Air TV Episode 11

Yukito is still sort of gone. I guess his spirit is in the crow named Sora. This episode seems to go over the custody battle that Haruko has to keep Misuzu with her. Turns out, like we were told before, that Haruko is not really Misuzu’s mother, but instead a guardian that she was placed with. In the time they’ve spent together she’s fallen in love like a mother should. What looks like Misuzu’s actual father shows up to take her away, even though Haruko has fought to keep her by her side. In the midst of all this Misuzu gets an inadvertent short haircut and continues to display weird signs of the sickness she had when Yukito was around. She eventually loses all of her memories, and the ability to walk. Misuzu, in her new mental state, learns to love Haruko as her mom and looks like she’ll get to stay with her.

The speed that this show has gone is really strange. There’s a lot to digest here, and I’ve read a lot of different blogs on this show. I’ll say that the last three episodes before this one were a bit confusing and kind of derailed the show from the path it was on. For me this episode has put it back on the right track for the most part. It’s hard to explain, maybe I’m just a sucker for emotional drama, but that’s what drew me into really liking this show, and this episode pours on the emotional drama. For the shortness that this series is going to be (13 episodes), they are asking a lot of the viewer to have faith and care for characters that you don’t have a lot of time to get to know, but for the most part I’ve been able to flow along with the breakneck pace and I think I’m following this the way they intend me to. I really liked this episode, and am looking forward to the wrap up.

School Rumble Episodes 16, 17, and 18

Episode 16:

The gang goes on a “Tea Club” trip to a cabin in the woods. All the girls and guys go. Harima tries to confess to Tenma, Imadori chases after Mikoto, and Hanai fawns over Yakumo. All of the girls seem to keep falling for Harima, who is one lucky bastard, and he doesn’t even know it.

Episode 17:

They end the arc about Harima’s animals. It was cute, but that’s about it. A little boy comes over to hang with Yakumo, and the gang finally goes back to school.

Episode 18:

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Hooray for Ichijou! In this episode she gets to go on a date with Imadori, who from now on will be referred to as “D-Cup Boy.” She goes on her date with D-Cup boy, we find out that she’s really strong, which is cool, although she still looks dainty in the show. I wonder if she’s all bulging like Harima when she takes her clothes off. So they go on a date, even though she knows that D-Cup boy is obsessed with Mikoto, who has D-Cups (or larger we even find out).

Jinki:Extend Episodes 8 and 9

Episode 8:

Akao goes into training, much like Aoba did earlier. Heck, even Ryu exclaims how it was just like that time, not so long ago. Again we’re full time in the “Extend” arc and not in the past. Akao goes to combat training when a new Jinki shows up. Turns out it was one stolen from the Angel group a long time ago. The new Jinki, the Schneiger piloted by Mel J, fights with another Schneiger like suit. Akao gets ready to help out when her alter ego shows up to tell her not to fight. Her alter ego looks just like her with bigger boobs. Amidst, don’t fight, no don’t do it, Akao freezes up and pokes into Mel J’s past.

Episode 9:

Akao gets kidnapped and taken away by J. Haan. Mel J pursues in her well ventilated outfit (how do they stay in when she runs, teaches me to ponder anime physics). They go after eachother, J Haan makes Mel J remember a sore spot in her past and eventually the two Schneigers come out for some Jinki on Jinki action. Akao wants to help out and save Mel J, and in doing so tells her big boobed alter ego to take a hike. The Seed goes off….oh wait, wrong series…Akao whoops the crap out of the Dark Schneiger sending J Haan to Jinki heaven or hell. In the aftermath, though, Shiba (The mysterious one that’s so interested in Akao) takes control of her. Apparently Akao fighting makes her be manipulated by Shiba and her people. At the end, we go back to Venezuela and see Aoba all growed up. She’s on her way to Japan to help take care of the issue at hand. Hooray for Aoba.

Slightly less confused than I was last time, I do wish I understood what the deal with Akao is.

Air TV Episodes 8, 9, and 10

Episode 8:

In the “Summer” arc, as I’ve read what it’s called, we meet Kanna and Ryuuya, who seem to have a similar relationship to Misuzu and Yukito, and aside from hair color they look kind similar as well. Ryuuya has been charged to guard Kanna, who is a mythical winged person. Kanna is sad and orders Ryuuya to take her to find her mother, whom they find just in time for the episode to end.

Episode 9:

Kanna finds mom and they leave her prison, only for her to get killed shortly after her release. She teaches Kanna a spell of sorts, and the continue to take Kanna away. There’s some sect that finds Kanna to be some kind of demon and they’re hell bent on killing her. As Kanna tries to escape she almost makes it but gets nailed by tons of arrows and disappears. Ryuuya and the other guardian decide that they will make a child and pass on Ryuuya’s mission to find Kanna sometime in the future through legends and tales. I assume that Yukito is the descendant of Ryuuya, and the Mikoto is harboring Kanna’s spirit. But that’s just a guess at this point.

Episode 10:

And now back to the present. Yukito shows up here, but this basically a recap episode told through the eyes of a crow that Misuzu takes in. Since it’s a recap I’m not going to go into the plot of this one, recap is a recap ya know. But, Potato makes an appearance…yay!!

Not too many episodes left here, looking forward to some resolution now. At least I haven’t cried these last few episodes.

School Rumble 14 and 15

Episode 14

Hooray for Ichijou! Ichijou likes wrassling, and can probably kick Imadori’s butt. Too bad she’s after Imadori. Well at least she’s not fallen under the charm of Harima like all the other girls. And is it me or is the image of Harima the delinquent being slowly dissolved. I think he’s turing into a wuss, but he’s still hilarious.

Episode 15

Mikoto rules. We find out a little about her past and Eri’s as well. But didn’t I just say Mikoto rules. Yes, I did, ’nuff said. This was a cute episode. Harima apparently is still working on the manga thing, which is cool. Harima is so blinded by Tenma, he’s just entirely clueless about the other advances of the other girls. Harima you stud.

Jinki Extend Episodes 6 and 7

Episode 6: Aoba’s little friend Kouse has been manipulated by mom as well. She’s been teaching him to pilot the Moribito. What exactly is so special about that Jinki? Aoba convinces Kouse to not kill her, then mom kills Kouse. Mom is great!

Episode 7: Kouse’s Dead, and Aoba lays the smackdown on Mom and her Purple friend. Apparently she wants Aoba to get mad at her and release some inner demon or something I’m confused about. They’re being rather cryptic. Now Aoba’s fight is very short in this episode. We spend considerable time in the “Extend” sequence. The orange haired girl above (Can’t remember her name) is trying to figure out if she should pilot the Moribito to help her comrades out. They give her this cool crystal thing and the Moribito pilot gets kidnapped more or less, through deceptive means. So orange hair ends up fighting and showing off some kick-ass skills. I’m still confused though, I hope they start making sense soon. Not that I mind, this is quite an enjoyable show.
